![]() NewsVersion 2.01.00 Product Definition and PricingPosted September 1st, 2010We have settled on a product definition strategy for the new version of the greenMonitor Renewable Energy System software. In place of the current six software products, there will be three. greenMonitor Individual will be targeted for individual system owners. greenMonitor Business will be targeted to system installers and maintenance personnel. greenMonitor Site will be targeted to entities -- business and individuals -- with multiple separate systems. Each of those products will have three feature levels, Basic, Standard and Advanced. Pricing for greenMonitor 2.01 Individual Edition has been set. The Basic feature level will be priced at $75, Standard at $150 and Advanced at $225. The contents for Basic will be approximately the same as the existing Basic Edition product. The contents for Standard will be the same as the existing Individual Edition product, but with only the support for OutBack Power Technologies products, the TED 5000 and Watts Up? circuit monitors. The contents for Advanced will include all supported devices. Version 2.01.00 Product StatusPosted August 28th, 2010The planned 3rd quarter release beta test cycle for Version 2.01.00 is being delayed slightly due to issues with shipping our first greenMonitor Lite data logger systems. The greenMonitor Lite low-power data logger is now being shipped with Version 1.00.8 Update 1, giving us more time to focus on Version 2.01.00 development. The existing greenMonitor Renewable Energy Monitor software will be reorganized into a smaller number of products to simplify buying decisions. African Distributor for greenMonitor Lite ProductsPosted August 24th, 2010We have reached a tenative agreement with Wind Solar Motion in Johannesburg, South Africa to be our greenMonitor Lite data logger distributor for the African continent. Africa presents unique challenges that we feel we are most qualified to handle. We look forward to working with Wind Solar Motion in the coming months as we work to bring this product to the African market. Server RebootPosted August 1st, 2010The Digital Gnomon remote monitoring server was rebooted at 12:35am after 265 continuous days of uptime. Downtime was approximately 10 minutes for an average uptime of 99.997%. We are investigating the cause of the failure. It does not appear to have been network or electrical power related. The MySQL server that is associated with the greenMonitor Version 2.01.00 alpha test program failed to start. All other services were restarted successfully. We will be scheduling server maintenance downtime in the next week or two to upgrade the existing server. Our growth in remote monitoring has begun taxing the capacity of the existing server and we plan to replace it with a larger system that will allow for growth in the coming year. Version 2.01.00 second Alpha Test ReleasePosted July 27th, 2010The second alpha test driver for greenMonitor Version 2.01.00 has released. Work items for the third alpha test driver are being planned and are expected to included user-selectable charts. We remain on target for a 3Q10 beta test cycle and anticipate reaching General Availability in late 3Q10 or early 4Q10. Wind and Solar Power in the Hill CountryPosted July 17th, 2010I'll be back in Mason county later this morning doing a Solar Saturday at the Castell General Store, not all that far from the Llano River. Saturday BBQ is a regular event, and the food is to die for. Hill Country solar power makes great sense, as Mason County receives an average of 5.6 hours per day of sunshine, 10% more than we receive in Travis County. Learn more about it here. One Year AnniversaryPosted June 21st, 2010We recently marked our one year anniversary. While the greenMonitor Renewable Energy Monitor software product is now entering its third year of continuous development, greenHouse Computers, LLC has finally completed its first year as a full-time commercial venture. The past year saw us reach break-even, complete 4 major software releases, bring 4 hardware solutions to market, and reach all but one continent (Antarctica). We continue to grow market share and revenue and look forward to our second year in business. Major Release IncrementPosted March 29, 2010We are at a point were we feel that the current Version 1.xx.x release numbering scheme doesn't accurately reflect the development of the product since it's initial release last year. In addition to adding products at higher and lower levels of functionality, the product definitions have dramatically changed. Version 1.00.8, which is tentatively schedule to enter Beta Test in mid to late April will be the last Version 1.xx.x numbered release. We will also be changing our overall numbering scheme to reflect the past year's experience with issuing software updates. EMEA Marketing director namedPosted May 13, 2009We've officially appointed a marketing director for EMEA. Yusif has been helpful in the development of marketing strategies throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. We look forward to his continued involvement as we work to bring our products to market in developing regions. UPS Runtime TestingPosted May 13, 2009We've begun UPS testing for the different models within our product family. We are currently developing the procedures to insure reproducible results, but the preliminary values are very promising. Old Pecan Street Festival, Austin TXPosted May 5, 2009We were invited by one of our resellers, Alien Scooters, to display our products at their booth for the festival. We hope to have our own booth in the Fall so we can display more of our configurations and demonstrate the advantages of green computing. Initial power values for greenStation Personal WorkstationApril 26, 2009 The initial power values for the greenStation Personal Workstation, configured with a WiFi adapter, the configuration we will be displaying at Alien Scooters on S. Lamar here in Austin, have been determined. This is the same configuration we will be taking to the upcoming Pecan Street Festival May 2nd and 3rd. Contents
